One of the most popular animated films in
Hollywood with an IMDB rating of 8/10 and grossed $633 million at the box
office, The Incredibles has been of of the most successful feature films. The
movie explores complexities within super humans. The Incredibles highlights
ideas about family, values and morals. Although some of the themes of the film
might not be aged appropriate for children such as scenes of passenger planes
exploding, destruction of public property and scenes manipulation of main
characters perceived to be good, the reviews of the movie have been overall
positive.
The
Incredibles, directed by Brad Bird has done a terrific job in showcasing an
idea of a simple superhero, fictitious movie into a morally significant piece
of art where it shows the basics of a regular household of 4 members with
regular problems in a regular world. However, when Mr. Incredible receives a
call to go to a ‘conference’, his whole life is reversed where he is
able to relive his past glories of savings lives as a strong man before he was
married to Mrs. Incredible, an elastic woman who is able to shape-shift. At first he thought it was an opportunity of a lifetime but he soon realises that's not the case. In
this case plot thickens when the entire family all having different powers and
together are able to use them to their advantage to defeat evil.
This
movie is entertaining with a regular superhero movie with references to
everyday life where Mr. Incredible is a strong man, working a dead-end job and
not utilising his entire skillset.
If
you haven’t already, I highly recommend watching this movie with family,
friends or both. It’s fun for all parties involves with plenty of laughs to go accompany
it.
